In 1898 Caperdonich distillery was established adjacent to sister distillery Glen Grant in Rothes and is often described as Glen Grant No. 2. The Caperdonich distillery was renovated by Glenlivet Distilleries Ltd in 1965 and another pair of stills were added in 1967. Caperdonich is a major contributor to Chivas Regal blend.

Colour: Mid amber.
Nose: Vanilla, sweet, caramel, hint of fruits.
Flavour: Dried fruits, light smoke. Juicy oakiness..
Finish: Long with juicy fruits.
Comments:  none.

Bottling: Duncan Taylor Caperdonich 1970 - 33yo Single Malt Scotch Whisky.  
Cask No: 4379.
Colour: Amber, gold highlights.
Nose: Fruity with touch of vanilla.
Flavour: Dried fruit, raisins. Slightly gingery.
Finish: Very dry and lightly spicy.
Comments:  Classic Caperdonich.

Bottling: Duncan Taylor Caperdonich 1972 - 29yo Single Malt Scotch Whisky.  
Cask No: 6698.
Colour: Mid amber.
Nose: Intense Fruits, Mango.
Flavour: Sweet tropical fruits dominate with a velvety creamy background.
Finish: Velvety orange, long and smooth.
Comments:  A fruit explosion - stunning.



Bottling: Lonach Caperdonich 1968 - 37yo Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
Cask No: n/a.
Colour: Pale Amber.
Nose: Rich full and warming - stewed fruits and mint.
Flavour: Slightly drying, touch of aniseed and oranges.
Finish: Lingering, pleasantly dry.
Comments:  Just a touch of oak that shows its maturity subtly.

Colour: Pale Amber.
Nose: Very fresh, creamy and sweet vanilla.
Flavour: Green apples, grassy and creammy.
Finish: Lingering crisp fruitiness.
Comments:  Caperdonich never fails to impress.

Cask No: n/a.
Colour: Chardonnay
Nose: Pears and grassy notes and bakewell tart
Flavour: Initially lots of green fruits, apple pie (including the pastry) and ice cream
Finish: Soft and more grassy notes replace the fruitiness
Comments: Danger highly drinkable!
