Glenugie distillery originally was established in the 1830’s and whilst in production was Scotland’s most easterly distillery. The distillery closed permanently in 1983 with the distilling equipment being removed. The distillery was demolished and a warehouse has now been built on the site.
Tasting Notes
Bottling: Rarest of the Rare Glenugie 1981 - 22yo Single Malt Scotch Whisky. Rarest of the Rare Single Malt Scotch
Cask No: 5156.
Colour: Amber.
Nose: Dark chocolate, toffee and horse chestnuts.
Flavour: Meaty, rich treacle and orange.
Finish: Coating lingering sherry finish.
Comments:  Sadly missed – a stunning dram.

Bottling: Rarest of the Rare Glenugie 1981 - 23yo Single Malt Scotch Whisky.  
Cask No: 5155 - SHERRY CASK.
Colour: Rich Amber.
Nose: Intense sherry and chocolate nose.
Flavour: Very fruity, lots of dark cherries and more sherry.
Finish: Very rich sherry with a spicy edge.
Comments:  A big big dram.
